How Go Works

You use go by typing go.brandeis.edu/(search term) in your web browser or by entering your term in the GO Box the top of this page or from the box on the Brandeis Homepage.

The Brandeis GO function works very similarly to the AOL and web browser KEYWORD functions. The idea is that you put in a keyword, or shortened version of what you are looking for and we try and find it for you. For example: if you were looking for American Studies, you would enter american or amstd, and GO would bring you to the American Studies website.
For better results try using shorter searches, acronyms, or nicknames.
IE. provost for Office of the Provost, summer for Summer School, nejs for Near Eastern and Judaic Studies

If you are looking for a person you can enter n: or d: (for name or directory) and then the name you are searching for and it will search for the person in the online directory.

If you know this person's UNet ID, you can enter u: (for Unet ID) and then the username you are searching for and it will show this person in the online directory.

If you are looking for a building of office you can enter m: (for map) and then the building/office you are searching for and it will search for the location in the online map.

If you are looking for events on campus you can enter c: (for calendar) and then part of the title of the event you are searching for and it will search for the event in the online calendar

To preform a search of Brandeis Webpages you can enter s: (for search) and then your search string and it will search for the Brandeis website

To jump directly to someone's homepage on people.brandeis.edu just enter ~name

We are adding/editing shortcuts everyday from entries that return no results. If there is a shortcut that you would find useful that is not already in effect please email web services and we will add it.
